Off to the sea I go to find myself and find my soul - A saying I've often felt describes me perfectly. This piece is about my affinity with water and the calm that is so alluring to me. The stillness. The quiet. The peace.

I miss the gentle caress of the ocean tide. Soothing my soul as it cascades across my sandy toes. Each foam bubble dissolving over my skin refreshing me. Breathing in the crisp salty air. Listening to the peaceful rhythm of the waves. Looking out to the great expanse of blue hues as the horizon meets the sky. All five senses pleased, heightened and everything else stops. Peace. Tranquility. Balance. Home.

I never take anytime I have by the water for granted. But the next breathe of sea air I take in, I will fill my lungs with the warmth of familiarity and hold it inside for an eternity. Close my eyes, rest my mind, heal my body and soothe my soul.
