This beautiful piece by Leicestershire Artist Lois Pedley, combines detailed mandalas, gold leaf and an elephant drawn in a scribble technique. It's a striking contrast between the styles giving the elephant an almost halo, or crown of gold, bejewelled with mandalas.
Fun fact… This is the first elephant Lois has ever drawn!

Elephants have had my heart for many years, I admire their strength and resilience. To me they are the most powerful animal, in so many more ways than just physical strength. They are graceful, wise, strong hearted, and quite often very playful. They deserve the title of king of the jungle, the crown should be theirs.
