Leicestershire Artist, Lois Pedley, has created this monochrome feather, which at first glance appears very simple and elegant. But Lois has used her favourite technique here, stippling, to build this feather, one dot at a time. Her attention to detail and dedication for allowing shapes to grow through dots is a painstaking task, but one Lois enjoys more than any other technique.
A note from the Artist about this piece:
Walking along, dealing with life's twists and FFS moments, is when I usually stumble upon a feather. It is always just at the time when I need you. How do you do that? You always just know. You always did. I miss you every day. But these little drop-in reminders you give me make me smile. And I always remember your advice, “A change is sometimes as good as a rest”. So I take a deep breath, feel the warmth from knowing you aren't far, and pick myself back up to get on with whatever shit show has presented itself to me. You remind me to evaluate the situation and choose which way to go. If I have you guarding over me, everything will always be ok.
