If I couldn’t go to the beach, this is where I’d want to wander…
… As a child I spent many a day exploring. I grew up in places that now seem like a dream. Woodland walks in Shropshire, the valley gardens of Saltburn, and secret walled gardens along the Scottish borders were where we would adventure. Discovering hidden pathways, colours popping up from all around us, trailing vines above our heads, walking barefoot amongst the wildflowers, searching for fairies and finding new friends in the form of newts and butterflies. Reminiscing those childhood memories I hold so dear. Those days with my sisters and brother, the fun we had, the roles we played, the dreams we lived, brings back a nostalgia that is warming to the soul. Being able to paint those memories with great fondness, well, those places, that’s where I’d want to wander, in that wanderland.
