MY HORIZON

Little bit of a throwback Thursday for you today.

I painted 'My Horizon' when I was going through my journey of rediscovery. By far the hardest painting I've done, it emotionally drained me and built me up again. I battled with her. Screamed at her. Felt comfort from her. I felt rage, compassion, fear and my heart torn to shreds. In the end she sparked that burnt out flame within me and fuelled me with fire again. It was a long process, she fought back at every layer of paint, but I know why, to push me, to make me stronger.

Every time I look at this painting I'm reminded of the fight I went through to get myself here. Well, to be honest I'm still fighting; it's a hard journey to self awareness, belief, self esteem and acceptance of who you are and what you are worth. But the destination gets nearer with each day. My horizon is clear to me. I will conquer the mountains before me. I know I can. This is what I was born to do. Nothing fills my soul with passion the way Art does.
