A note from the Artist about this piece:

Working with a palette knife instead of a paintbrush is a really personal experience. Like my painting ‘Enigma’, I took a long time to name this piece. She felt too close to me to let her go, having spent so much time caressing her curves with my knife and gilding the space around her to show off her delicate beauty, I didn’t feel ready to share her properly with the world until now. The title, ‘One Of Your French Girls’, came from that feeling of a private moment, the time between artist and muse when its just us in the room. Captivated by the act of being allowed into that private space with someone, whether in physical presence, philosophical or metaphorical, it is a time of complete trust and anticipation. What will transpire between us? What will you reveal to me? What will I learn from you? This piece isn’t about a specific person, more the culmination of what I feel to be my own gratitude and respect towards all the women I paint. To “them” (or indeed the viewer), it may feel like a moment from a movie where they ask to be painted like “one of your French girls”, but to me its an honour that I don’t take for granted.
